Black Holes.

A black hole is a region of spacetime exhibiting such strong gravitational effects that nothing—not even particles and electromagnetic radiation such as light—can escape from inside it. The theory of general relativity predicts that a sufficiently compact mass can deform spacetime to form a black hole.

*Think of a star(diameter 1.4 million kilometers) ten times more massive than the Sun squeezed into a sphere like 302.6 square miles.

*The result is a gravitational field so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape.

*If you were to enter a black hole

* gravity will drag you toward the singularity at the speed of light and ultimately spaghettify you.

*time has practically stopped to an outside observer. This is what is known as the ‘event horizon’

* In fact, an outside observer will watch a falling observer taking an infinite time to reach the event horizon.

*beyond this no one knows what will happen .

NB

-Black holes are without question some of the strangest places in the universe.

-If you were to take a step into a black hole, your body would most closely resemble “toothpaste being extruded out of the tube,”
